Week #9 Music

Another week has passed and a new challenge started on Sunday over at Christmas Card Challenge. The challenge this week...Music. I did a lot of brain storming for this one which is why I am just posting it now. I had some beautiful My Minds Eye paper with music notes on it I initially thought of using, but I had a hard time coordinating colours unless I wanted to go with browns again, which was not what I had in mind this time around. So I started back to the drawing board....Music....Music....Music, well Christmas is all about music and carols and singing So I started planning a card that incorporated the words to a christmas carol. Using Adobe Illustrator for the background and the indie art cricut cart. I came up with this beauty....I have to say I am quite proud of this card. As always I like to keep things simple, I always say less is more, and this card really "Rocks" it.

Week 8 - Paisley

So I am going to have to admit, I spent the better part of the day working on the challenge for this weeks Christmas card challenge( thank goodness my husband was home to help with the baby). The task this week was to incorporate paisley into the card. And all I had was one piece of 12x12 paper with a paisley pattern on it. This really limited my options when it came to color. So here is the finished product.....I wasn't so sure how I felt about it when it was done, but I think it is growing on me.

Week 7 - Sketch.

I had a great visit today with a wonderful friend, occasionally we will get together and make a card or two Since I started with my 52 weeks of Christmas challenge, we have both been making christmas cards when we get together, today I worked on this weeks challenge from the  Christmas Card Challenge which was to use this sketch for Inspiration

Here is what I came up with. Again Non traditional colours, and I decided to do a tone on tone.

Week 6 - Backgrounds

So I am just starting to get back to reality, and after a week away from the Monkey, we are nicely falling back into our daily routine. Here is my project for the Christmas Card Challenge with this weeks challenge: Backgrounds. I have been dying to use my shaker frames from Stampin' Up and this project gave me the perfect opportunity. I think I have a little bit of fine tuning to do with these frames but not bad for my first attempt. Stay Tuned for my catch up project for last weeks Challenge "Your Favorite Technique"
